| G'day,
Just thought that I would post a few details of my current project. In fact it has been current since early 2007 but is making progress albeit slowly, more slowly than I would like but it is a hobby not a business. And as all who have done this kind of thing would understand there are times when one simply has to leave the thing in order to retain some modicum of sanity.
The car will be a Group 2 A open sports racing car and will be used for supersprints and hill climbs.
A few details, Engine: Renault V6 2664 cc Douvrin Serious head modification work-combustion chamber shape and valve profiles mocked up and tested at Melbourne University flow bench facility. Holbay Camshafts (there lies a story) 3 Weber IDF 48 on fabricated manifold Free flow exhaust manifolds All components fully balanced Accusump system fitted with oil cooler Transmission: Renault 369 5 speed transaxle Alpine clutch Steel flywheel R30 Driveshafts Chassis: Steel tube space frame Body shell: Fibre glass
I will attempt to attach a few photos covering progress to date. When, of course, being a computor laggard I master the required method!

| Progress is a little slow - grandchildren tend to take up time! As does wandering around with the caravan. However I am part way through constructing the buck for the body moulds. This involved some considerable amount of fiddly work but it is progress. I am not even game to mominate a completion month! Or maybe year! How does one attach photos to a post? Keep it simple as I am somewhat of a computer illiterate. Keith |

| Here is a brief pictorial history of the build to 3 weeks ago. Work is now concentrated on the body buck and is moving slower than I had hoped - doesn't everything? Picture 1 is chassis under construction Picture 2 engine, transaxle etc installed Picture 3 engine, transaxle etc installed different view Picture 4 Exhaust, electronic dizzy etc Picture 4 Driveway test-goes forward and backwards! Picture 5 Track test at Bryant Park - successful with only a few minor items to be rectified and half a million adjustments to made! Picture 6 Body buck being put together over chassis before final assembly - I want to be sure the thing will fit! I will post more photos when I lay my hands on the camera to dwonload! Keith |

| Latest progress on body plug - apart from destroying several zillion sheets of sand paper and using what feels like several hundred kg's of various body fillers! Picture 1 Left rear 20-12-2011 Picture 2 Left front 7-03-2012 Picture 3 Left side 7-03-2012 Picture 4 Left rear 7-03-2012 Picture 5 Left rear 7-03-2012 As can be seen progress is somewhat slower than I had hoped but about what I had planned and expected. Still aiming for third quarter this year depending on grand children, caravanning and the like. This is after a hobby and not quite, depite my wifes opinion, an obsession. Maybe! Keith |

| Despite my being more than somewhat slack about updating my slow but almost steady progress I have actually made some! Body buck almost ready for work to start on the mould. Work has started on mould manufacture - at last! As progress is made I will (perhaps!) post more photos of pregress. Slow and steady - may even be mobile last quarter of the year. And may not!!! | G'day Stefan, As Rowville isn't too far off the route from Vermont to Warragul maybe we could arrange something one evening? Anyway having conquered the problems I was ahving with photos I will attach the latest. The body panels are sitting in place temporarily prior to making up mounts and the like. Naturally there is still plenty to do but now it seems a lot closer! Regards Keith |

| Hi Keith
It would be good to meet up. Work has kept me busy lately but things are easing off. I even had some time to do some work on my own project.

| Stefan,
That sounds good, maybe we could get Wayne to join us. As you are working and have to fit in with that name a time and a choice of days and we can arrange something.
I have every second Wednesday out of bounds (I voluteer to drive the bus for the Aged Care Facility where my Mother lives) but can pretty much fit in around anything else. Grandchildren permitting!!!
Would you prefer to visit or meet somewhere for coffee?
Let me know what is your preferred venue and we'll take it from there.
Regards,
Keith |

| Sounds good Stefan, let us know what suits. Wayne, with my computer skills I don't have a colour scheme I can post. I have a mock up model I can colour with my intended scheme - maybe! However that is not exactly top of my list at present! All the fiddly bits are taking too much time. As more real progress is made I'll post it, after all I think the three of us are the total active membership of SPRA!!!! Keith |
